How the Valve Operates

When valve drive air is supplied, the piston needle retracts from the nozzle seat (3), and the liquid is discharged from the nozzle tip. (Figure1-2) At the same time, atomizing air flows into the air cap. (Figure 2) This atomizing air turns the liquid into a fine spray. The amount of spray is controlled by the nozzle discharge time, liquid pressure, and piston needle stroke. The spray range varies depending on the distance from the nozzle tip to the workpiece surface, atomizing air pressure, and liquid viscosity.
